WSJV is a TV station licensed to Elkhart, Indiana & serving the South Bend, Indiana market. A FOX TV network affiliate, WSJV broadcasts on ch. 28 & covers most of the Michiana viewing area.

WSJV's studios are located in Elkhart, Indiana, while it's transmitter is located southeast of South Bend. The station is currently owned by Quincy Newspapers.

In it's on-air promos, WSJV usually identifies itself by the nickname FOX 28.

The call letters refer to the St. Joseph River Valley, which encompasses South Bend & the surrounding communities.

WSJV first began broadcasting on March 15 1954, initially as an NBC affiliate with a secondary ABC affiliation. It was owned by Elkhart's daily newspaper, The Truth. In 1955, it became a sole ABC affiliate after losing it's NBC affiliation to WNDU-TV.

Initially broadcasting on ch. 52, WSJV switched to ch. 28 in 1958.

WSJV began broadcasting in color in 1966, with all local programs aired in color starting in 1968. Current owner Quincy Newspapers bought the station in 1974.

On October 18 1995, WSJV became an affiliate of the FOX Broadcasting Company. This came in part because FOX had begun airing NFL games & wanted a stronger outlet than it's previous affiliate, low-powered W58BT. When WSJV picked up FOX, it swapped affiliations with W58BT, which is now WBND.

Although the station is licensed to Elkhart, it usually identifies as only "South Bend" rather than "Elkhart/South Bend."
