WATG, also known on-air as "NewsRadio 750 WATG", is an All-News radio station in Atlanta, Georgia broadcasting on the AM dial @ 750 kHz. It's owned by WMFL Corporation along with WATG-TV 2. It's studios are located in Atlanta, next to NNC's HQ & it's transmitters are located in Downtown Atlanta.

In 1930, it started broadcasting @ the frequency of 1470 kHz. After the NARBA in 1941, the station went to 750 kHz, where it's still WATG's current AM dial position.

The station has been All-news since 1970. Prior to it's current incarnation, the station had a Oldies/Personality-based format.

Currently, WATG regularly programs traffic reports from the "WATG Channel 2 TrafficCenter HD" Team (powered by Beat the Traffic) every 10 minutes on the "7's" (6 times an hour), sports updates every quarter-hour (2 times an hour, @ :15 & :45), weather reports from the "WATG Severe Weather Team 2 HD" as much as 6 times an hour, entertainment news once an hour (@ :38) & business news 2 times an hour (@ :26 & :56). When BREAKING NEWS warrants, WATG will break format to provide continuous coverage of any event

WATG is also known for a couple of trademarks. Typically before a commercial break the current on-air personality will claim, “750 WATG News time…(current time of day)" (as is standard procedure with every other all-news station O&O by WMFL Corporation). Also after any sort of sports update, the on-air personality will also proudly claim, “you're listening to the home of the Braves, the Falcons, the Hawks, the Thrashers, the Force, the Bulldogs & the Yellow Jackets”

Sports programming on WATG[]

The station has been the flagship station of the Atlanta Braves since 1970. WATG is also the flagship station for Atlanta Falcons football, Atlanta Hawks basketball, Atlanta Thrashers hockey, Georgia Force AFL Football, Georgia Bulldogs college basketball/football & Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets college basketball/football. If there's any conflict with any of the games, 1 game will be aired on WATG while the other will air on WATG's sister sports station, 690 WAG / Atlanta
