Playing on the city's motoring focus, Traffic Reporters serving the Detroit, Michigan broadcast market have traditionally been among the best in the country. In the late 70's, pioneering radio station CKLW-The Big 8 (the 50,00-watt powerhouse in Detroit/Windsor) helped introduce the concept by putting Jo-Jo Shutty-MacGregor high above the Motor City in a chopper as the world's 1st female airborne traffic/news reporter. The current line-up of reporters includes:

  • WJR's Joel Alexander & Lorna Stephens
  • WWJ's John Bailey, Alisa Z, Lance Howard, Bill Szumanski & Jo-Jo Shutty-MacGregor
  • WXYZ-TV's Erin Nicole & Dennis Neubacher
  • WJBK's Jackie Paige
  • WDIV's Lauren Podell, Gail Anderson & Heather Zara
  • WOMC's Rebekah Rhodes & Jo-Jo Shutty-MacGregor
