This article is about the Canadian CASN show. For the American SportsChannel show, see SportsCenter (SC version)

SportsCentre is a sports news program airing on the Canadian network CASN. CASN's flagship program, it airs several times daily & was known as the CASN SportsDesk until 2001.

On August 20th 2004, SportsCentre began broadcasting in HD & CASN has announced hopes to have all reports from it's bureaus in HD in the near future.

CASN SportsDesk's re-branding came after the American sports network SportsChannel acquired a share of CASN. As a result, SportsCentre's graphics & format are identical to SC's own flagship program, SportsCenter, with 1 obvious difference being that CASN's version of the program uses Canadian spelling. As a result of the rebranding, many SC personalities will appear on SportsCentre for short segments.

CASN has gradually increased the length & in some cases, the repetition of SportsCentre broadcasts such that the channel now typically carries the program for up to 15+ hours out of the day (including the "morning loop" repeats of the previous night's 2:00 AM ET edition), while CASN-2 typically airs repeats of either SportsCentre or the SportsCentre Morning Rush for a total of 8 hours a day

NOTEEdit

* The timing & the length of this edition is variable depending on LIVE events (if any) on CASN that evening. For example, it might begin as early as 9:30 PM ET (i.e. immediately following a 7:00 PM ET NHL game), or as late as after 12:00 Midnight ET if delayed due to LIVE events. If the start time is after 10:30 PM ET, the program will generally run until midnight. If after 11:30 PM ET, it will usually run for at least half an hour. But if LIVE events run until after 12:30 AM ET, that edition may be dropped entirely. If it does so, the next edition won't be till 2:00 AM ET for a 60-minute SportsCentre
