Countdown to NASCAR is a NASCAR Sprint Cup & Nationwide Series prerace show that debuted on February 17th, 2007. It's a LIVE on-site pre-race show for all Sprint Cup & Nationwide Series races televised on SportsChannel & SC-2. It comes as a result of SC getting broadcast rights to NASCAR races, including the Chase for the Sprint Cup.

The program is also available in HD on either SC-HD or SC2-HD. SC also airs a daily show devoted to NASCAR entitled NASCAR NOW. Countdown to NASCAR is telecast from a new, state-of-the-art mobile pit studio

  • On February 17th @ the Orbitz 300 @ Daytona International Speedway, Countdown to NASCAR was broadcast from a separate studio between turns 3 & 4 & from pit studio in the Speedway. Both sets were used in the program.
  • Countdown was pre-empted in consecutive weeks on April 7th & April 14th because of women's tennis matches, the preceding programs on SC-2, ran long for both weeks. It was also pre-empted on October 13th because of the Arizona-Southern California football game that ran longer than anticipated that day
